Heroic is a theoretical live-service collectible card game I created, so that I may design and model long tail retention and monetization systems. Over the three month duration of the project, I modeled progression mechanics with the purpose of maintaining player engagement for 1000 hours, designed a player economy with an emphasis on preventing long-term inflation, created social systems for players to connect with each other, and found opportunities to monetize invested players. And, it was the perfect excuse to make some cool spreadsheets!
